The Namibian Men’s Senior National Team, Brave Warriors held Angola to a 1-all draw in their opening match of the 2025 Hollywood Bets COSAFA Cup, which was played on Thursday, 05 June 2025 at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Warriors enjoyed a lot of possession, and created numerous chances, which they failed to convert. Angola was gifted a golden opportunity when they were granted a penalty and Randy Nteka netted in the opener. Ivan Kamberipa scored the equaliser with a well round headed in the dying minutes of the match.

Speaking to the media during the post match presser, head coach, Collin Benjamin

“It’s a rollercoaster of emotions, we were supposed to control the match because Angola was down with one man, inexperience caused us but we live to fight another die. We are going back to the drawing board and work towards getting maximum points in the upcoming matches.

“This first match was a learning curve, we had five players making their debuts for the team and this is the kind of growth we are looking forward to for the players to achieve and it was important that we didn’t lose and we managed share points, moving to the next match, we play Lesotho who are currently leading the group because they won their first match, it is vital that we defeat Lesotho come Sunday said Warriors gaffer.

Namibia will play Lesotho on Sunday,08 June at 15H00 before concluding their group stages against Malawi on the 10 June 2025.
